I feel so lucky that we found Alexis. She is a skilled coach who not only helped my daughter improve her classical technique but also infused the joy and artistry of dance into each lesson. She shared her knowledge from years of training and shared how to take care of her body and mind as an essential part of being a dancer. She helped my daughter realize the intricacies of how small muscles effect the whole body. Alexis has a unique way of combining the strictness of technique and an appreciation of the whole body with a playful artistic nature. This wonderful way of teaching really connected to my daughter. Alexis was an essential part of the audition process from prep work to making her audition video and eventually being accepted to her dream school.  

When I needed video auditions for summer ballet intensives with a quick turnaround time, Alexis more than delivered. She handled: securing studio space and equipment, music selection, choreography, videotaping and editing. We were able to film content for five different ballet intensives within a few hours. And I was accepted into every program that I sent a video audition to!

For in-person and Zoom auditions, Alexis has also been extremely helpful. We practice poses for required photos, and she advises on photo selection for arabesques, tendus in second position and second position échappé. She also advises on audition attire and etiquette.

Alexis has been my daughter’s private ballet coach for over four years. Together, they have worked on ballet technique, pointe, strengthening/conditioning, and audition preparation. Alexis is easy to communicate with, responsive to questions, flexible about scheduling and generous with her teaching knowledge. My daughter has learned so much and improved greatly under Alexis’ coaching!

Alexis went above and beyond to get to know my daughter as a person and a dancer.  She was able to get my daughter to perform at her personal best in her audition video.  The video was absolutely beautiful and extremely professional.  I am very grateful for all Alexis did to make a stressful project a really positive learning experience.

Training in MSDC’s beautiful facilities has transformed my dancing and helped me grow tremendously. The faculty’s incredible attention to detail has helped me correct bad habits and focus on the in-between steps of my movement. The rigorous classes and coaching have helped evolve my training and bring attention to artistic details.  In addition to the rigorous classes, the private coaching offered at MSDC has largely aided my artistry and technique. Cleaning every aspect of my technique has helped me improve in such a short amount of time. I am excited to see my training progress with MSDC.
