Programs:
MSDC offers three programs. Youth Dance Program (YDP), Adults Dance Too (ADT), and The Ballet School (TBS). We will also offer open classes, master classes, and workshops so do subscribe to our mailing list, so you don’t miss any fantastic dance opportunities. MSDC will continually add classes for all ages and levels. Our goal is to support and offer all styles of dance and fitness classes.

The Ballet School is unique because it is possible to enroll in one or multiple classes. Email: info@mainstreetdancecenters.com to learn more. Tuition for TBS will be sent by email. ADT and YDP tuition are posted on Dance Studio Pro link: https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/mainstreetdancecenter
The ADT program is slightly different than signing up for an open class or purchasing a 5 or 10 class card that can be used over 120 days/4 months. Each class is $15 and one signs up for a 4 week session.
The YDP program is specifically designed to offer a discounted rate for multiple classes from 1hr on. The tuition grid will be updated for 2023/2024 back-to-school season.

Code of Ethics & Core Values:

-
Strive to be the best dancer you can be, reaching your goals with passion and respect for the art of dance and movement.
-
Be mindful of yourself and how your thoughts, words, and actions affect others and you. Optimistic thoughts lead to better words. Positive words lead to better actions. It is easier to progress if we flex the muscles of our minds too. Practice sustaining an open outlook, keep a tenacious spirit, and lead by example.
-
Working hard is fantastic. We ask our students to work smart too. Please take and apply the corrections your teachers give you. They are for your safety and longevity of your dance career. You can work very hard 1000 times at doing something with improper placement. The health and safety of our students is paramount.
-
Work as a team and support one another
-
Be responsible with and for your schedule. If you are ten and up (double digits), it is time you remember your shoes for dance class not your parents. Know your schedule, plan, be prepared.
-
All dance is connected, understand that all styles and dance movement connect different cultures around the world
-
Be yourself! There will never be another you. You are unique and fascinating! Own it! Work hard, shine like everyone else wants to be you, and stay humble and grateful for what you have because there is always someone who has less than you. Perspective, and most importantly have fun dancing!

Classroom Conduct:

-
Please arrive on time for class no earlier than 15 min before the start of class unless otherwise specified or permission is granted.
-
Students should be dressed for class before arrival.
-
Long hair is to be placed in a bun or French twist for all TBS The Ballet School students. For all other classes, it is mandatory to have hair tied back, in a ponytail, bun, or style out of the face as this can inhibit the dancer’s focus and learning in class.
-
Use the bathroom before class. Class time is to make progress without the distraction of students going in and out.
-
There is no food or drink other than water allowed in the studio. Please bring a water bottle into the studio. There will be a designated space for water bottles and water breaks will be given.
-
No street shoes are allowed in the studio. Students will be shown where they can place their shoes on the first day of their class.
-
No student should ever touch any mirrors. Students are not permitted to touch any mirror at any time. Do not lean on them or play with any rolling mirrors (studio D).
-
Cameras will be placed in the studio for the safety of all.
Students:

-
We ask all our students to make a commitment to their classes. Progress is made when you listen to the teacher, accept, and apply corrections. Corrections given in any class should be taken as a correction for all participants in the class.
-
Every dancer matters at MSDC and we are here to help and support you along your dance journey. That said, students are encouraged to support their peers in and out of the classroom.
-
A reminder: any kind of bullying in person, cyber or other will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate dismissal from any program or class at MSDC. Teachers respect their students and students are to respect their teachers. It is dance class etiquette to thank the teacher at the end of every class. Students are to respect and take care of any MSDC property. Barres are to be used for class and are not to played with. Do not hang on the barres. Place trash in the trash.

Parents of Students:

Please help MSDC foster a warm and welcoming learning environment for all students. Due to Covid, lounging on the third floor (MSDC location) and viewing class is not allowed at this time. Dates will be set and sent out for parent peek weeks. We are asking that parents please drop off and pick up children promptly. If your child is very young and needs assistance to use the bathroom facility, please remain outside the class. Please remind your children to use the bathroom before the start of the class. We encourage all parents to discuss and go over the MSDC Policy Handbook, especially, the classroom and code of conduct policies with their children. MSDC has a zero tolerance for bullying of any kind. That applies to the students, parents, and faculty. Parents are expected to behave with integrity and a dignified manner. Your child learns behavior from you. TBS class placement is decided by the director as well as all casting decisions. Any questions or concerns should be emailed to the director.

Code of Conduct:
Zero tolerance is the policy on bullying. It will not be tolerated in the studio, on social media; physical, spoken, or written. Any bullying based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, National Origin, age, or disability is conduct for dismissal. Students must give the MSDC staff their undivided attention and respect and support their classmates at all times. This policy applies to anyone involved in the MSDC community, students, parents, adult students, and teachers.

Tips for signing up!

If you are an adult student new to dance, we recommend trying out different styles. Let the music move you. A ballet class is always an excellent foundation practice. Ballet will strengthen your posture, enhance your alignment with proper guidance from the teacher, and provide improved mobility. Though ballet is a nice starting point, we all are attracted to different rhythms. Look at our class schedules on DSP and don’t miss any chance to participate in an open dance or fitness class. If you are not sure which class to sign your child up, please reach out to us by email for suggestions.
Instagram: MSDC has an Instagram account. Follow us on IG so you can stay up to date with what’s going on and we can all stay connected in our dance community.
Facebook: MSDC has a FB page. We encourage all students and parents to follow us so you can receive updates and information posted.
